Nintendo doesn’t like the unofficial Super Mario model made in Dreams

Sony has taken a user-created Super Mario model out of Dreams in keeping with a request made by Nintendo (via Destructoid).

Good news and bad news
We flew too close to the sun boys! A big video game company who i will keep nameless obviously didn't read my "be cool" note in dreams
no worries though have a back up plan. But for now Mario projects in dreams are on hold until i put said plan into effect

The player PieceofCraft received an email from Sony’s legal department, stating that his model of the mustachioed man contained “copyrighted material,” and that his creation had been removed from Dreams as a result. Finding the humour in the takedown, they said Nintendo “obviously didn't read my ‘be cool’ note” and that their Mario-themed Dreams are “on hold” until they work out a way forward.

Dreams is out now on the PlayStation 4. Only recently, Media Molecule unveiled a beta evaluation process for those players who want to make money from their creations using the software. “We welcome and encourage creators to do this, but it’s new territory for us. We’ve been busy behind the scenes mapping out how we can make it easier for creators to do this in the future,” said studio director Siobhan Reddy.
